Is Lucas good enough?

Lucas is a Brazilian footballer playing for Liverpool. He arrived on a highly rated profile having just won the Bola de Ouro (Brazilian Footballer of the year)in 2006. However based on the way he has performed this season, he is a first team regular due to the departure of playmaker Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid this summer, he has yet to stomp his authority in matches and to me, is one of the main reason on Liverpool's slump this season.

He has yet to prove to me on what kind of a midfield player he is. He is definitely not a box to box midfielder. and creativity is not his best tool either, so he is no playmaker. I will never play him on the wings cause he does not have the pace of a winger neither does he have the skills to play on the wings. He is no attacking midfielder cause he does not bomb around the six-yard area often. He makes ridiculous tackles and Rafa Benitez still plays him.

I know i am being critical of him but like they say, no player is bigger than a club and certainly no under-performing player should be continuously in the team. Its like a company, you need to prove to your boss that your an asset.

And i see a dozen other better players who can replace Lucas in the Liverpool line up easily and do a better job than he does. All i can say about him right now is he is a deep lying central midfielder who is not good enough to be in the team.

Remember Igor Biscan?he was some signing and i think Lucas is even worst than he is. He produces one of his best games at Old Trafford when Liverpool whoop Manchester United 4-1 but apart from that and being the first Brazilian to score for the Anfield club, i think he has not step up to the mark and i wonder if he ever will.

I am not being to critical on him just cause Liverpool are playing bad and i need a scape-goat,no, its cause i think of what is best for the team. Take him out, and we can play and attacking minded player and a player that can cause trouble in the opponents penalty area. He cant do that, he cant do what Mascherano does. So you tell me. What can he do?Cause i really want to know.
